Okay bad intro for what this first part is about. But we are searching for places to be the home for Warehouse 49. But I found that this can be hard to do. First you have to find someplace, okay not hat hard. Are the owners okay with having a bar in their building. Surprising some places are not okay with this. Is the place in a good area, right, we are looking for a warehouse but we also don’t want to be somewhere that is hard to get to either. Also throw into the mix the costs since in the end you can find all the perfect things and find out it is around $3 per sq/ft. In the end I wanted you guys to know that we are finally looking for a building to rent. Yay progress!
GALP – Great Alaskan LAN Party
We decided that we needed to have a holiday LAN party. Something that was a party at the end of the year. Fun tournaments, food, beer, and a good time. We wanted more of a party than a LAN but why not fuse the two. Besides it is called LAN Party… Anyway we wanted an event to unwind at the end of the year that helps charity and to get ready for the next year of tournaments. So far the response has been overwhelmingly positive and have gotten support from most of the groups in Anchorage except for one, but holding a firm open invite to that group a table will be available to you regardless. You know who you are. This brings me to a great question we brought up to ourselves when planning the GALP. Who is the GALP for? This was an easy question since Warehouse 49 will be a venue and we support the community, this event is open to everyone. We know rivalries exist but why not come together as a community to support a great cause. Warehouse 49 is in a great spot to to allow these types of events to happen. We advertise ourselves as a venue, we do not have favor a particular group to another. We believe in working with all groups to help make each one stronger, besides each one has its niche.
